The downside of Emacs RMAIL is that the message headers used in the RMAIL file format make it neccessary to use less than simple grep locutions or a perl construct to get desired results when searching heterogeneous archives of old email. ylee is responding to my post from last May. Finding my archived copy was an exercise in the "downside" mentioned above as some of the news archive is in RMAL format.
