Hi, How it started: On December 5th, 2022, Stack Overflow moderators instituted a “temporary policy” banning the use of ChatGPT in particular on the site. https://meta.stackexchange.com/q/389811 How its going: More or less part of my predictions, which nobody believed a few months ago, even the complete moron hardmath laughed at me. Hi, The Alps Supercomputer that was used to train the the Swiss https://www.swiss-ai.org/apertus ranks 7-th, some sources say 6-th world wide: The 9 most powerful supercomputers https://www.livescience.com/technology/computing/top-most-powerful-supercomputers The computer is cooled and in the summer the buildings as well, with sea water from Lake Lugano. From 45 m sea depth, 460 liters of cold sea water per second over 2.8 km long are drawn to the data center. Water comes back at around 25°, they might make the Locarno Filmfestival warm and cosy. Bye P.S.: The energy consumption is said to be 50 MW, similar figures are found in the UK AIRR initiative Bristol. Currently their Isambard-AI is fastest in UK, but ranks top 15 worldwide. Hi, The top-ten list is always changing: Record-breaking computing power: JUPITER ranks fourth in the global Top500 list and is Europe's fastest machine Pushing Alps back to rank 8. :-( Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the Jupiter supercomputer will open new possibilities for training A-I models and scientific simulations. He hailed the machine as a symbol of Germany's leading role in the technological revolution, and said he hopes to turn the country into an 'AI nation'. Interestingly Runs Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) — confirmed by multiple sources, including Wikipedia and official FZ Jülich publications. Hardware components, interconnects, cooling seems to be BullSequana XH3000. Bull originated in France and remains a prominent part of Atos' HPC division. Hi, SWIPL Administrators dreams of becoming Anonymous Adolf Hitler, sending their Users in Virtual Jails, if you would give them a button, they would also send people to Auschwitz and gas them, same attitude as stackoverflow admistrators, who all think a forum has a Majordomus or a team "Staff", who can do as they like. But the European Law is different. So, how it started: Milgram's Obedience Experiment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBDkJ-Nc3Ig How its going: Julio Di Egidio elected to Agent Provocateuer: Let us know if you need further help now or in the future. https://swi-prolog.discourse.group/t/why-cannot-i-reply-to-a-post/9117/4 Problem none of the SWIPL Administrators read the Term of Service (TOS). So the whole action orchestrated by a couple of morons (EricGT, Julio Di Egidio and Boris Vassilev) went quickly down hill. Hi, Seems the taiwan silicon shield just got pulverized, the definition was as follows: "The term “silicon shield” emanates from Taiwan’s ability to resist the Chinese threat owing to its unique technological know-how and integration into global supply chains. According to the silicon shield theory, the protective function of the Taiwanese semiconductor industry is two-fold: (1) China may not want to invade Taiwan since a conflict would disrupt its semiconductor imports on which it is largely dependent; (2) semiconductors are a matter of U.S. national security, making an American intervention in case of cross-strait conflict more likely since the U.S. is also dependent on Taiwanese chips." How it started: Integrated photonic neuromorphic computing https://arxiv.org/abs/2509.01262 How its going: China’s New Photonic Quantum Chip https://thequantuminsider.com/2025/11/15/chinas-new-photonic-quantum-chip-promises-1000-fold-gains-for-complex-computing-tasks/ What is the USA response, Intels Loihi ?
