#2627 — FontType=3

Hi. Using my homebrew FatSimple (*)

  /FatSimple   findfont currentfont /FontType get =
  /Times-Roman findfont currentfont /FontType get =

prints 3 twice...

So then what test can I use to tell apart the non-charpath-able
homebrew fonts from the charpath-able builtin fonts ?

Thanks, Peter

Yes :-) Or, insert a setfont:
  /FatSimple   findfont setfont currentfont /FontType get =
  /Times-Roman findfont setfont currentfont /FontType get =
  3
  1

As PLRM says under currentfont:
  Normally, this will be the font most recently established
  by setfont or selectfont   <===

Thanks,
Peter
