#1719 — Docutech 6180 and setpagedevice issue

I am trying to use

<< /PageSize [595 842] /MediaType (plain) /MediaColor (white) >> setpagedevice

<< /PageSize [595 842] /MediaType (plain) /MediaColor (pink) >> setpagedevice

to pull an A4 sized uncollated NCR page white and pink.

The Docutech 6180 won't recognize the page size for some reason.

I used (pink) smd and (white) smd which may be specific to an XMPie command. It seems to work better in that the press can recognize the page size but assigns the pink/white to the paper type rather than paper color.

What other options do I have for postscript commands that might make this work?

thanks,
Bob

What does the 6180 do instead of what you intended? Successfull media
selection by PostScript statements depends on the proper configuration of
the paper bins with respect to *all* attributes that are requested by the
setpagedevice operator.
Please switch on the printing of an error page and post what that tells.

The case may also need to match e.g. Pink vs. pink.

According to my documentation the values of both MediaType and MediaColor
are case insensitive.

Thanks all,

The problem was with the wrong queue on the machine. It was asking for letter paper while the document requested A4.

A new, clear queue fixed the issues. Thanks for the tip on the case. Color case doesn't seem to matter either. I did enable the error page so in the future if I run into problems I will have more info to work with. (Assuming the operator uses my queue!)

cheers,
Bob
