Dear all,

I've just changed GSView from 5 to 6, and gs from 9.10 to 9.19.

In the old version the coordinate was displayed if the mouse is located somewhere on the page. But now I miss the coordinate data. Can the settings be changed so that the coordinate will be displayed? Or has this function disappeared in the new version? Many thanks for any hints.

Weichao

GSView 6 is a ground up redesign/rewrite, and no longer uses Ghostscript
to display file contents. It uses mupdf for display, and only uses
Ghostscript for various format conversions - for example, if you open a
Postscript file (which mupdf doesn't support) it uses Ghostscript to
convert to PDF, then displays the PDF.

Also, GSView 6 doesn't rely on a separate Ghostscript installation:
Ghostscript is bundled in the GSView installer.

GSView 6 is not (and is not intended as) as GUI front end for Ghostscript.

GSView 6 is still a work in progress, so if you go to bugs.ghostscript.com
and open a feature request to add the coordinate display, it will be
considered.

GXView 6 is a completely different application from GSView 5.0, despite
the name. It works in a totally different fashion, and that is one thing
which is no longer present.

You should be able to use GSView 5 at the same time as GSView 6 and
using the 9.19 Ghostscript release

Many thanks to you both, Chris and Ken! Now I know the reason and will continue to use GSView 5 with GS9.19.

Best regards

Weichao
