Makefont uses an array of six values. The first value is the font width, the fourth the font height and the third the oblique angle. What are the second, fifth and sixth values for? -- Cecil Westerhof Senior Software Engineer LinkedIn: http://www.linkedin.com/in/cecilwesterhof

[ a b c d tx ty ] ==> | a b 0 | | c d 0 | | tx ty 1 | ==> x' = a*x + c*y + tx y' = b*x + d*y + ty The second is the *other* skew value (affecting y, depending on x). And the fifth and sixth are translation, not used in a font, AFAIK.

You might find the August 2006 issue of the Acumen Journal useful. Its PostScript article describes makefont in a bit of detail. Not that they're bad here or anything. But some of your questions might be interesting (or answerable) by a larger (or just different) audience. Sometimes usenet can get a bit chatty, and stackoverflow excels at keeping the topic more organized. Just something to consider. $.02 -- josh
