There are several members of the PHP-FIG who are also involved in the
development of PHP itself.  However, that was not what Jerry had claimed
above; a claim which can easily proved wrong: just compare
<http://php.net/credits.php> (section Language Design & Concept) with
the list of the PHP-FIG members.

Yup, and there are several things which go against good programming
practices.  Including the "design" of PHP.

And any statement in the "recommendations" is just the opinion of one
person.  This is not ISO or even ANSI, where every line is voted on.
Someone wants to add to the "recommendations", they just do it.

Why break it ?    Just count the iterations and do your stuff *inside* the
foreach loop when that counter reaches a certain value.

The other solution is to simply, after having started a new foreach loop,
not output anything for the first number of results.   Yes, you need some
kind of counter there too. :-)
