Hvala.

I would use GNU/Linux + LAMP myself, as it is much more common on servers/real environments: http://www.howtoforge.com/ubuntu_lamp_for_newbies -- Matthew Carter (m@ahungry.com) http://ahungry.com

If you prefer Windows, you may consider to use a prebundled development environment such as XAMPP: <https://www.apachefriends.org/index.html>. Note, that PHP does not work on Windows XP since version 5.5.0. BTW: this is an English speaking newsgroup. :) -- Christoph M. Becker

As predicted Stuckle has nothing to back up his claim that this is an English language group other than "20 years of history", which is hilarious as the group is only about 10 years old, and rant about trolls. If anyone cares at this point, here is the 2nd CFV that created this group and it contains no references to language: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/news.announce.newgroups/comp.lang.php|sort:relevance/news.announce.newgroups/Fpe6Kvt0atk/9TyK7Py8UF8J In the world of Jerry Stuckle, a troll is anyone who would dare to question any pronouncement of the great and mighty Stuckle. -- Jim Pennino

While certainly knowledgable in some areas, his delusion of omniscience cause him to become enraged should anyone dare to disagree with anything he says, including things that are mearly a matter of personal taste. The rules of Stuckle: 1) Stuckle is always right. 2) Anyone that disagrees is a troll. -- Jim Pennino

I agree with many things you said. Still, you do want to fix the latter part: Your real name belongs in the From header field as well as an e-mail address. Not posting using a troll server like aioe.org also is a Really Good Idea; try news.solani.org instead. -- PointedEars Zend Certified PHP Engineer Twitter: @PointedEars2 Please do not Cc: me. / Bitte keine Kopien per E-Mail.

You have to prove that. > The fact it is one of the Big 8 is completely immaterial. Big 8 newsgroups are international newsgroups, i.e. they are distributed to servers planetwide. There is more than one natural language on this planet, and Usenet is not reserved to speakers of English. That precludes the possibility that those newsgroups, including this one, could be limited to English, could be “English language newsgroup[s]”. It just happens that English is the language that is most commonly understood in the field that covers the topic of the newsgroup. By contrast, there are local newsgroups, whose subscribers are, and whose distribution may be, limited to a certain language, country or area. As a result, postings in another language than spoken primarily in that country or area are at least frowned upon. For example, if you posted in German in uk.ALL (British) you would either be ignored, royally[tm] flamed, or told politely to post to de.ALL (German-speaking, not limited to Germany). Not so in the Big 8. I have seen (non-spam) postings in Mandarin Chinese, French, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese there, among others, and sometimes follow-ups in kind. Nobody objected to that, and, as you should understand by now, for good reason. > [snip abuse] There is no offense where none is taken. That you call the people names who rightfully demand that proof from you, does not change the fact that unproven/unprovable statements do not carry much weight in a discussion. Claiming something does not make it so. Claiming it twice unproven shows lack of arguments (put politely); not strength of character as you appear to be thinking. >>> The fact it is one of the Big 8 is completely immaterial. >> >> Big 8 newsgroups are international newsgroups, i.e. they are distributed >> to servers planetwide. Usenet began in the United States of America, therefore many users who are native English speakers continue to use the original newsgroups, later reorganized into the Big 8, and alt.ALL. That does not mean that those newsgroups are English or English-speaking per se. There are, however, us.ALL and uk.ALL, for example, for regional topics, as I already pointed out. But if you still disagree, what do you think the word “global” in the comp.lang.php charter is referring to? > [abuse] Or maybe you should try anger management instead. -- PointedEars Zend Certified PHP Engineer Twitter: @PointedEars2 Please do not Cc: me. / Bitte keine Kopien per E-Mail.
