Is there a function you can call to determine whether ncurses is between ncurses_init() and ncurses_end() without getting an error message? I'm using ncurses_baudrate() which returns false if uninitialized and ncurses_isendwin() to determine if ncurses_end() is done and that gives a correct answer as far as I can tell but ncurses_baudrate() issues a warning that it hasn't been initialized.

That depends on the library you're using and where you got it. Have you done a google search on the ncurses library? Can you find a copy of the source and paw through it? My guess is that's the only way you'll find the answer. -- DeeDee, don't press that button! DeeDee! NO! Dee... [I filter all Goggle Groups posts, so any reply may be automatically ignored]

Can't you keep track of whether you've initialized your ncurses lib or not? -- ================== Remove the "x" from my email address Jerry Stuckle JDS Computer Training Corp. jstucklex@attglobal.net ==================

Yes, I switched over to doing that because of the messages. It's kind of sad to have to, but that's how it goes. Thanks J.
