I am doing an experiment wrt deriving state from a URL into settings for my online circle intersection explorer program. I was wondering if you all could give it a whirl...? Anyway, here is a link for a fractal that resembles a spiral galaxy: http://preview.tinyurl.com/khs5aza Now, when the `Render' button is clicked, you should see a series of dots. A spiral form is not apparent at this level of iteration. So, go ahead and manually set the `Iters' count to 12-15 or so, and render it. I limited the level of iterations a user can pass in via URL to 8. Well, that is not enough to see the given test fractal at a sufficient level of detail. I was worried about allowing a user to accidently pass a URL with a high iteration count! This code is 100% raw, and in a totally experimental stage. However, it seems to work for me on several browsers... My question is, does it work for you in any way shape, or form? :^O Thanks! :^) FWIW, here is the link in expanded form: ________________________________ http://webpages.charter.net/appcore/fractal/t tr/exp_01/?g_html_m_iters=8&g_html_m_rati o=0.4&g_html_c0_m_x=340&g_html_c0_m_y =300&g_html_c0_m_r=79&g_html_c1_m_x=3 34&g_html_c1_m_y=270&g_html_c1_m_r=93 &g_html_sqrt_a=0.87&g_html_sqrt_r=1.2 &g_html_m_no_sqrt=1&g_html_m_sym_0=0& amp;g_html_m_sym_1=0&g_html_m_sym_2=1& ;g_html_m_sym_3=0&g_html_m_sym_0a=0&g _html_m_sym_1a=0&g_html_m_sym_2a=0&g_ html_m_sym_3a=1&g_html_m_rcircle=0&g_ html_m_rline=0&g_html_m_rpoint=1&g_ht ml_m_line_size=1.0 ________________________________

AFAICT, this warrants another checkbox, probably labeled "animate". Humm... > > My question is, does it work for you in any way shape, or form? > Yes Great! Thank you so much for actually using it. :^) > > FWIW, here is the link in expanded form: [...] > What's with the "g_html_" prefixes? Well, I created a namespace for HTML elements. I know its terribly verbose, but it keeps things clearer to me wrt separating HTML element names from internal scripting... I also apologize for all of the commented code. I forgot to remove it before I allowed it to go "live"! :^o

There should be an alert that pops up warning about a URL parse limitation because the linked url has 13 for the iteration count, and the parser has a limit of 8. Can you see it?

You need to click the "Render" button in order to compute the settings derived from the URL.

I see something, but it doesn't look like any von Koch fractal I've ever seen. looks like a vague intersection of two triangles containing a 5 sided star figure.

Yikes! I accidentally posted the wrong link. Sorry about that. This is more of a root attractor space filling curve. Something like: http://paulbourke.net/fractals/treeroots > looks like a vague > intersection of two triangles containing a 5 > sided star figure. Here is a much more recognizable von Koch fractal: http://preview.tinyurl.com/m7hp2c7 Crank up the iters to about 13-14 and click render. FWIW, The link posted to before is the result real circle intersections, and the corrected link is the result of estimating circle intersections.

These are rendering as I'd expect (Fx 28.0) I still think you need to reduce the size of the url.

Absolutely Agreed. I am going to create a little index that maps an unsigned integer into an actual element id. Therefore the parser derives its indexes from a url where the resulting values are used to lookup the actual html elements that are ultimately going to contain the related data in said url. All of the resulting parsed input values are checked against the rules that happen to apply to the type of "valid input" that the mapped html element "expects". It should be a very straightforward parser, that will result in a massive compression ratio, when compared to the "radically verbose" method I am using now! :^o

[...] FWIW, here is a link that creates the Dragon fractal: http://preview.tinyurl.com/m9v8wj3 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_curve Crank up the iters to around 14 and click render. Well, I can't believe that a von Koch curve: http://preview.tinyurl.com/m7hp2c7 and a Dragon fractal are both hiding within my circle intersection estimation algorithm. I sure did not put them there on purpose! :^) Alas, I have not shortened the length of the url yet, but that is on the list of to-do items.

[...] Here is an interesting Pythagorean tree fractal generated by my pre-alpha "Thomason's Turbulent Ring's" (TTR) fractal explorer online program: http://preview.tinyurl.com/m7zcuds Wow... So far, there are three established fractals that exist within my circle intersection estimation algorithm! AWESOME!!! :^D
