This line map.addControl(new google.maps.LargeMapControl());
create a control so you can zoom and move the map in any directions.

Now to my question is it possible to increase the size of this control
because it will be used on a IPad ?

Sorry, I misread that.

Checking the API reference for LargeMapControl, it appears that the API
version you're using (v2) is deprecated. You should migrate to v3,
especially for a new product.

That said, I couldn't find anything related to your question in the v3
reference, either. This appears to be the best place to ask for further
assistance:
https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/forum

Curiously, the officially recommended support forum for Google Maps is
Stack Overflow. That's unexpected from a company with its own Groups
product.
