Hi:

    I received last week my new ES/JS reference manual: "Speaking
JavaScript" by Axel Rauschmayer. Published by O'Reilly in 2014. It cost me
$23.99 USD delivered to Arizona.

    On first view, it's more a reference tome than a tutorial.

    It does have a JavaScript Quick Start set of pages explaining basic JS.

    and this is followed by some background on JS development and its raison
d'etre.

    Then, Part III is: JavaScript in Depth which is 300 pages long and is
reference material.

  But, it'll be good to 'tuck under my pillow', resting alongside David
Flanagan's 5th Edition.

That book is now available online at:
<http://speakingjs.com/es5/>

The author, Dr. Axel Rauschmayer, has other interesting projects such as
JS Central on Twitter and a blog <http://www.2ality.com/>.

I like how his blog pages give repeated js errors in IE 9.

I think that the problem is caused by Blogger. In IE 11, I have found a
very few errors, not related to the code examples in the blog articles.
But I haven't checked thoroughly.
