as it is in an shtml file (with possible inclusions) not strange that it
isn't on same line

I don't know what happens but it is like the function populate() didn't fire
If I launch it after load is complete that finaly works, images are
there and scrolling too (unfortunately, as I hate those disturbing
animations)
... no way to stop all that agitation ?

maybe replacing
	window.onload=populate
with
	window.onload=function(){setTimeout(populate,2000)};
???

OK. The whole script is included as one.
I thought you may have read the script as I placed it underneath in my
1st post.

I'm not so keen on them either. But they are the sponsors of the event
the site is about, and they all need a place in the left column (where
they now move). There were too many pictures, the column would have
become too high. And there will be still pictures to be added.
The only solution was to rotate them.

What would that do?

No, the solution is to display in random ;-)
(the number possible of images on the allowed height)

That would launch the function which "populate" the left column with a
delay of 2 seconds after complete loading

sans garantie de succès

maybe IE +/- old will prefer :
	window.onload=function(){setTimeout('populate()',2000)};

still without no guaranty

Thanks, but I rather keep it the way it is.
