Hi Gene:

Your database indexes are probably identical in format to mine (i.e.,
foxpro-compatible .cdx files), and your VFP proggies are probably gui's
based on your app doing much xbase-style backend work.

Well, up thru 2006 *I* used to do that daily for a group of strucural
steel companies. But that was back then ....

Now, I do pro bono work for my Senior's Park in Arizona, and am
currrently building a Lot Management System for them. This is my first
attempt at a 'web app', and it is challenging (being a non too smart noobie
in JavaScript).

So, my CGI server app (in the Harbour language) is what ties my office
client to all the databases on my server.

Since I'm so far off in 'left-field', I doubt that I can help you webify
your VFP app.

Since the basic Harbour language by itself creates console apps, one must
use a GUI library to 'Visualize' it. I used the free MiniGUI library -- a
bustling, active group that inter-develops the library. (btw, its *not*
'mini' any more after eight years of heavy development).

Our harbour language (an outgrowth of dBase
 >FoxBase>FoxPlus>Clipper>FoxPro>Harbour) has now forked into harbour and
xharbour. I follow the xharbour path altho both forks are valid and
competitive).

Your best bet for webifying your app is to ask questions of the
professionals here: in particular Denis McMahon (also Dr. John Stockton)
who built an essential part of my first app for me, so that now even *I* can
understand most of it :))

Another btw: I provide an alternate download site for the latest
xHarbour packages (another pro bono). See the web site below if you wish

Good Luck !

We have no intent of Webifying it. It is going to be rewritten.
It is more than just Webifying this app. It is connecting more of the
company data.

From my other posts, you can see that there are certain standards
I have for data entry, but these are for DE in general, not just this
one app.

Sincerely,

Gene Wirchenko
