<div>Most Windows PC keyboards keyboards come with a scroll lock key. You can use this key to toggle the cursor lock on and off. Pressing this key will lock the cursor to a particular computer, and then pressing it again will release the lock. This comes in handy when you're playing a video game, or doing something else in full screen mode.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Thank you. In the host OS I use a feature provided by PowerToys which dims the screen and spotlights the mouse cursor when you double-tap the control key. I didn't realize there was a separate option in the control panel mouse settings.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>cursor lock windows 10 download</div><div></div><div>Download: https://t.co/CifFnVhkx0 </div><div></div><div></div><div>So...how do I do that -- lock my mouse to inside the window? Do I essentially just keep setting the mouse position to the center? If so...how do I set the mouse position? I'm using Windows, but I'd prefer a non-native solution if OpenTK provides it.</div><div></div><div></div><div>One practice that I have done, and that the old Quake games used (and half-life 1), is every frame you reset the cursor position to be the middle of the screen, then you calculate the delta from the middle of the screen.</div><div></div><div></div><div>When I tab out of my GLFW window, my first person camera flies around all over the place. I know you can stop this with glfwSetInputMode(window, GLFW_CURSOR, GLFW_CURSOR_DISABLED); but that means that I can no longer see my crosshair cursor (which I need). Can I lock the cursor to the screen without hiding it?</div><div></div><div></div><div>Windows has a feature where if you drag a window to an edge of the screen (right or left) and let go it will make that window cover the half of the screen. I use this feature often and I like that I can perform it very quickly and without moving my hands from where they normally are (right hand on the mouse and the left hand on the left side of the keyboard). The problem is if you have multiple monitors you have to move the window slowly to the edge that's between monitors for this feature to work, otherwise the cursor will pass over to the next screen.</div><div></div><div></div><div>The main difference is that other programs always restrict the cursor until some user input (shortcut hotkey or holding a key/button), I wanted a program that only restrict the cursor at the user's command (the opposite).</div><div></div><div></div><div>The first option wasn't good enough because it's hit or miss and if you move the cursor quickly you will overpower the resistance. I want to still be able to move freely between monitors and only restrict the cursor at certain and specific time so the second option is not what I'm looking for.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>You can try the utilities like Mouse Trapper to restrict free mouse movement between the multiple monitors/screens and trap the mouse inside one display. You can still move the cursor over onto other screens by pressing a pre-selected key. Cursor Lock is another similar type of program that confines the mouse cursor to a selected area on the screen.</div><div></div><div></div><div>As Stubenraupe suggested, moving displays diaognal in Display Settings fixes this issue. Just overlap a little if you want a path to move your cursor to next display. My second monitor has touchscreen so I don't need any mouse pointer there.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have issues with mouse locking. I would like to lock the mouse to the current position when I right click. My approach was to set the position to the locked position at the end of every frame and to use relative mouse positions for rotating. But the rotation is not very smooth, i have the impression that I loose mouse updates with this approach. But I have no idea how to solve it in a different way.</div><div></div><div></div><div>How about making a custom cursor class.</div><div></div><div>It would draw the cursor on draw() and update the position on update(). Adding a simple property for when the cursor is allowed to move would fix your problem.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Yes i get what you are saying, when you move the mouse outside of the window, the cursor in the game moves along the sides of the window closest to your actual cursor. So if it moves over a hover spot in the game it will register.</div><div></div><div></div><div>There remains an issue with the mouse focus for any user with multiple screens.</div><div></div><div>Issue 1 -</div><div></div><div>The mouse still affects the camera of the sim when used in other windows apps or programs. If not clicked (selected) in another window, say vPilot or Navigraph charts the mouse wheel continues to zoom the sim eye-point as well as the intended action.</div><div></div><div>Issue 2 -</div><div></div><div>If you withdraw the mouse pointer from the sim area (Full Screen Mode) you lose any control of any HID (joystick, rudder pedals etc).</div><div></div><div></div><div>I have an in-game menu that I load when pressing escape that pauses the game, makes the cursor visible, and sets its restriction to none so users can freely click in other windows outside of the game if need be. It also auto pauses when the window loses focus.</div><div></div><div></div><div>So what I ended up doing was recording the global cursor position once the player clicks the resume button in the pause menu. This makes sure the cursor is within the game window without extra code to detect it and the player can relocated the window to any display location across multiple displays.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If you are using nodes, then you can use thisMouseHiddenandLock.JPG10771155 71.7 KB</div><div></div><div>Show mouse-> Visibility of mouse, checking it will show mouse, unchecking it will hide mouse.</div><div></div><div>Mouse Lock-> Locking mouse to game window area, checking it will lock mouse to window area, unchecking it will unlock mouse.</div><div></div><div></div><div>A locked cursor is positioned in the center of the view and cannot be moved. The cursor is invisible in this state, regardless of the value of Cursor.visible.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>A confined cursor behaves normally, but it is confined to the view. For example, if the application is running in a window, the a confined cursor cannot leave that window. The confined cursor mode is only supported on Windows and Linux standalone builds.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>The recommended best practice for a positive user experiences is to only to lock or confine the cursor because of a user's action, such as pressing a button.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>The cursor state can be changed by the operating system or the Editor. For example, check the state of the cursor when the application regains focus or the state of a game changes to reveal a UI.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div>In the Editor, the cursor loses focus in Game mode when you press Escape or when you switch an application. In the Standalone Player, you have full control over the mouse cursor, but if you switch applications, the cursor goes out of focus.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Another way to stop your mouse from moving to your second monitor is to adjust your display settings. Right-click the desktop to find the display settings link. From there, you'll see your current dual-monitor setup with side-by-side alignment. Select your second monitor and drag it to a diagonal position. Now, your mouse will only go to the second monitor when you move the cursor diagonally.</div><div></div><div></div><div>I believe what you want is fullscreen. As far as i know that will lock the cursor to that screen while you're tabbed into the game. Other than that the game already locks the cursor to the window when you play, but breaks if you go into an overlay like steam or discord. It also lets you move the cursor out when you're in a menu or similar and have a cursor to move.</div><div></div><div></div><div>In the breaking case it basically goes as follows: </div><div></div><div>Open the overlay, type something or whatnot and close it. When you continue playing the cursor is no longer locked to the game window and will eventually go outside of it. When you click back into the game it will become locked as normal.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Fullscreen is not viable, as there are some heavy complications since the public release of this game (softlocks, mouse cursor attaching to the upper left corner without any way to deattach it from there, crashes occasionally when alt-tabbing, stays minimized, if something is in the front (like Taskmanager, PiP, forced always-on-top instances like Notepad++), which also leads to ->) uselessness of PiP functions. You cannot have something on top of WinForm-Warframe.x64.exe when using fullscreen.</div><div></div><div></div><div>If I am working in iTerm2 and move my mouse pointer to a Windows system and start typing, the cursor is still in iTerm2 and the characters I type appear in iTerm2. I've tried changing a number of different settings in iTerm2 but nothing works.</div><div></div><div></div><div>It sounds like a scroll lock problem to me. If you're using it on full-screen mode, then you'd really need to switch over to a different application. If you have the option minimize and set a little gap from the end off the monitor where your Windows machine is linked, then you can have a spot to click first before getting in to your screen for Windows machine.</div><div></div><div></div><div>Hey Ian C , you're not alone! I've run into this issue a couple of times myself. However, it seems to be a quirk of iTerm forcing focus when the cursor is "hidden" by programs such as Synergy, as I've found the same behaviour while using a few other apps on the local machine (1password and IntelliJ seem to cause it to happen quite a lot). As a workaround, I have a global hotkey trigger set (under keys in preferences) and whenever input focus is stolen by iTerm a double tap of the hotkey brings things back to normal. Hope this helps.</div><div></div><div></div><div>The Pointer Lock API (formerly called Mouse Lock API) provides input methods based on the movement of the mouse over time (i.e., deltas), not just the absolute position of the mouse cursor in the viewport. It gives you access to raw mouse movement, locks the target of mouse events to a single element, eliminates limits on how far mouse movement can go in a single direction, and removes the cursor from view. It is ideal for first-person 3D games, for example.</div><div></div><div> df19127ead</div>
