#18581 — form in iframe

Subjectform in iframe
Message-ID<ufmdnd0ihvIW77jMnZ2dnUVZ_s2dnZ2d@westnet.com.au>
I've been given some HTML which includes an iframe. Within the iframe
there's a form. On onsubmit I do some validation of the form input. If
it passes validation I return true.

How do I get the source of the iframe to change (to a page that says
that the form is now being acted on)?

I've now put a hidden iframe on the page and used that as the target of
the form. When the form is successfully validated I hide the form and
show other content.

With this previous way, it is the server that sends back a new page in
the iframe(*) saying Ol Korrect

(*) or given target (self, parent, parent.frame ...)

Anything can now tell that all wasn't correct on server side !!!!

A curious and certainly unwise approach. Why not simply submit to the same
iframe?
