1) 12 is not html

2) your code is likely running before the page is finished loading

3) what is "int" ?

4) Why are you going round a ten-long loop? That'll be finished before 
you can blink.

5) Why did you put your code in the body?

Something like this may work:


<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>

<meta charset="UTF-8">

<script type="text/javascript">

function myFunction(a,b)
     {
     return a*b;
     }

function main ()
     {
     document.getElementById("demo").innerText = myFunction (4,3);
     }

</script>

</head>

<body onload="main();">

<p id="demo">testing</p>

</body>
</html>
