Ok. So, which quotes do I need to escape in this case?

I attempted to change
s.innerHTML = "&nbsp;" + fn +  " <input type='button' value='x' onclick = 'newFN("+fn+" + "," +num+);'>";
to
s.innerHTML = "&nbsp;" + fn +  " <input type='button' value='x' onclick = 'newFN("+fn+" + \"," +num+);'>";
by escape the 1 double quotes before a comma.
The text editor seems to indicate that both parameters can be passed down now but browser complains syntax incorrect.
