I did not say that,
I said it is possible to write a Javascript engine that can.

I don't think so.
All variables in Javascript are in a sense immutable,
but some shorthand operators make it seem they are.
You might say [ I say only apparently so ]
i++;
shows mutability.
But [seen the inner workings of string concatenation]
mystring += " add this to the string";
certainly not.
