If this is about an open website, 
and the action has to be done repeatedly,
my choice would be serverside javascript,
and selecting from the input stream with regex,
and the page going to my browser just containing
the result.

On the other hand, using the DOM in the selection process,
so needing the browser, is also appealing.

Perhaps the choice is
what gives you the most joy in programming.
