Only if the indexes are all in the range from zero to some non-negative
integer.

A = [] ;                                // empty array
A[undefined] = NaN ;                    // non-empty array
for (J in A) alert(J + " " + A[J]) ;    // one alert :   undefined NaN
alert(A.length) ;                       // shows a zero
