You need to have a “canvas” element with ID “myCanvas” in the document for
this to work, like
<canvas id="myCanvas"></canvas>
But the call to getElementById() must happen *after* the document was
loaded; at least *after* the element in question was parsed (so that it is
in the document tree). Safest and cleanest is in a function or method that
you call onload:
<body onload="myObject.myMethod()">

> drawLine(context, 23, 42, 36, 47);

Where is the setColor() function?
