Translation: "Must be proficient at using two different databases because we are too dense to make the effort to just make one."

I didn't read that in the ad anywhere, and many company use multiple databases and database technologies for various reasons. They are hoping for someone with a pretty wide skillset though.

It is relative common.

They want several specific skills: Java, AWS, NoSQL, Spring and RESTful
API's.

But they are all pretty widely used technologies and often used by
same people so there must be hundreds of thousands of people with
these skills.

Are you sure?

It is not obvious to me that "NoSQL data stores such as DynamoDB,
Cassandra" means "NoSQL data stores including at least DynamoDB
and Cassandra" - I just read it as "NoSQL data stores like as
examples DynamoDB and Cassandra".

If you ever want to read some stuff that will make your IQ drop by at least 30 points, look up Aurora and Redshift for Amazon. Thensee how brain damaged this entire thing gets because they basically use one database for handling row data and another for column. This might be good in some cases. But what happens if you want to mix the two? Well, really really bad thing things can happen.

You need to do two different things, so you pick two different tools
that each specializes in one thing. And the two tools does not work
perfectly together.

Happens all the time.
