Hello,

1) Are the old posts from this group archived anywhere?

2) Are there any web sites dedicated to java favorite coding practices and sites with java coding snippets on topics such as the recommended way how to implement this or task? I'm particularly interested in general GUI development tasks.

3) Are there any java tutorials on advanced java programming?

Thank you,

Michael

The interface is clunky and there's a certain amount of garble, but
it's marginally usable.

     http://lmgtfy.com/?q=java+gui+programming

... is a good starting point. They offer Java GUI programming advice
at various levels, so you can tailor your course of study to your own
interests and ability.

("Now, why didn't *I* think of that?")

Some people use newsgroup reader programs. I just access it through the google groups url in the web browser. I believe every post ever made to the group is still accessible.

Favorite coding practices in java include all lowercase package names, class names starting with an upper case, meaningful variable names starting with a lowercase letter then capitalizing words also known as camel case. Most other coding practices are personal preferences guided mainly by what other languages you're familiar with. Any specific questions you have involving personal preference feel free to ask and you'll probably get 6 different answers.
