Now that I've got the most recent Android clock application running in Android Studio (and shown on my tablet) with zero errors. All I need to do is make it read out the Label text when the alarm goes off. I don't know how much of a Java thing that will be.

Probably an Android thing - the word to look for here is TTS (Text To Speech). Something that generally comes with Android, I believe.
