New jdks and jres released today. Oddly 1.7.0.71 was released the same
day.

The tricky thing to find is the downloadable api docs

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/documentation/jdk8-doc-downloads-2133158.html

You can browse them online at http://docs.oracle.com/javase/8/docs/

or locally at
X:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25\docs

Selecting a Suitable JDK 7 Release

In this release, both JDK 7u71 and JDK 7u72 products are available. JDK
7u71 (CPU) contains vulnerability fixes and JDK 7u72 (PSU) contains all
the fixes from 7u71 plus additional non-critical stability fixes.

Use JDK 7u71 release unless you need one of the additional fixes found
on the JDK 7u72 release. For mission critical applications you should
test with the PSU release regardless of whether you chose to use the CPU
or the PSU as the fixes on the PSU will be included in the next CPU.

Somehow I suspect that very few Linux or MacOS X users will find them
there ...

With JDK 1.8.0_25 all my Class.forName code stopped working. I have
never seen this before when flipping a JDK. I will see if I can track
down what is going on.

I discover the code works fine without jars under IntelliJ. Jarring is
what seems to screw up Class.forName.

Is there some new command you are supposed to put in the manifest to
make Dynamic loading work?

Does the .jar file contain those classes that .forName fails to load?

Yes they did. However, as I mentioned, the problem just disappeared.

What is the exception you get?

Class.forName started to work again mysteriously, but some SSL
connections no longer work. I think there may be a problem connecting
to 1.2 with Java TLS 1.1
