Hi,

is there somewhere a newsgroup and/or a web forum that deals with
eclipse and/or maven, which is also frequented by many users?

Thanks
Laura

They also have a newsfeed. I used that for
the longest time but lately I'm trying to
adjust to the forums. The newsfeed is still
by far the easiest way for me to find the
discussions I'm interested in.

Ok, thanks!

Maybe, my current problem can also be solved here:

I am migrating several projects, away from managed-by-eclipse-gui to
managed-by-maven. Then,

But I still want to use eclipse to write code. So I imported the maven
projects into eclipse.

The problem is that some code is not recognized by eclipse as "source
code". This means that, for example, there will be no tooltip when
hover'ing a class identifier, so that I cannot automatically generate
the needed imports. Eclipse seems to treat these files as normal text files.

This especially holds for GWT (Google Web Toolkit) code.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks
Laura

The New Maven Project Wizard should do the trick. Try
it with the sample project at the top.

"A complete but simple archetype that connects GWT
to several technologies: JPA 2, Hibernate, Spring
 Core, Spring Security, Spring Transactions."

The m2e (Maven Integration for Eclipse) has only a mailing list:

https://www.eclipse.org/m2e/support/

It has a good signal-to-noise ratio, in my opinion.

The official Maven user support group is also a mailing list:

http://maven.apache.org/mail-lists.html

I've heard there's an (unofficial) LinkedIn group, but I don't have
a reference to it.

There are also two IRC channels for Maven, one on freenode, and another one
on the Apache IRC network.
