#28761 — Unicode 7.0.0 is out

Unicode 7.0.0 is out. I don't think there in much of important to Java
programmers. It is mainly adding symbols in obscure languages for
historians.

http://unicode.org

It will not officially be published until October.

Why not? I actually find it useful that Roedy has pointed-out that there is
nothing relevant to Java programmers in this new major release of Unicode.
And I certainly don't think that such posts do any harm in what is such a
low-traffic newsgroup these days.

to give you the opportunity to find something in the new standard
important we all should know. Proving me wrong is a great motivator.

Hey, I plan on using
<http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/1f595/index.htm> in my
forum/stackoverflow arguments all the time as soon as it's supported!

I actually use 💩 (U+1F4A9) for almost all of my tests requiring support
for international characters. And if I ever do get my own domain name,
💩@<domain-name> will be the honey-pot email address for spam.

"Pile of poo" as a *honey* pot?

May all the spammers wallow in beeshit.

for those with insufficient curiosity to look it up, 1F4A9 = PILE OF
POO = dog dirt.

It is an official Unicode char. See

Oddly, they withdrawn it. I have written them asking for an
explanation.

They have now reinstated it. I guess it was just an error.
