I would suggest that you seriously look at Java 8 which is due for release in early 2014 because it comes with Nashorn - the JavaScript engine that runs on the JVM using invokedynamic byte code. Heh, I've only just got round to using some of the new Java 7 features in anger ... anyway, I'll take a look (eventually). > > -- > And loving it, > > -Qu0ll (Rare, not extinct) > _________________________________________________ > Qu0llSixFour@gmail.com > [Replace the "SixFour" with numbers to email me] -- Lipska the Kat©: Troll hunter, sandbox destroyer, treacherous feline and farscape dreamer of Aeryn Sun GNU/Linux user #560883 - http://www.linuxcounter.net

Java has had support for embedded scripting since version 6. The widely used SUN/Oracle Java comes with JavaScript engine. But I can not see much point in using jQuery inside a Java application. jQuery is widely used in Java EE web applications and Eclipse does support JavaScript. But that is Java executing server side and JavaScript executing client side. I think you need to explain more about what you are trying to accomplish. Arne
