Oracle has just converted the http://docs.oracle.com tree to https:
Presumable the rest of the site will soon follow.

Google offers higher search engine ranking to those who do so. It is a
blow against the US government's blanket snooping.  Basically it
creates a flood of encrypted decoys containing nothing of interest.
