I've just looked and, given that some of the files I'd want to edit have 
14 columns in some sections and 5800 rows overall, the impression I get 
from a quick glance at the tutorial is that the sheer verticality of a 
JTree-based display would make the thing unmanageable.

The ideal would be for a comment to occupy one row showing its line 
number, for reference, plus a single field containing the text, while 
other rows would show the line number followed by the fields in the same 
sequence as they appear in the source file.
