I just said auto-boxing including both explicit and implicit.

And  no need for explicit since 1.5.

That was sort of my point.

But examples can probably be constructed showing a difference.

I would expect a big difference between ArrayList<ArrayList<Double>> and
double[][] for very compute intensive usage.

But not the usual business application.
