Certanly seems so.
Let me point out the difference.

A method is not a function. It's a pointer to function.
An object is a structured collection of pointers to functions and variables.
A class is definition of that structure.

Give or take, that's how we used to explain back in the day when folks 
were switching from C to java.
Nowadays folks switching from python to java, I need explanation without 
pointers and structures;>
