Because you don't listen, don't do anything, and contribute nothing.

Also, you think too big. You want to write an OS that takes 1% of the code and provides 100 times the features. In that other recent thread, you wanted to know about running Forth on the bare metal (implying a micro-controller), but then you said you wanted to build databases and web servers, and finished up by saying: "I am attracted to simplicity..."

You remind me of myself when I was 11 years old --- I was dreaming about grandiose projects such as building a satellite to orbit the Earth --- but the whole summer went by and I never finished building my go-kart.

Pretty much every programmer, including myself, started out by writing a game as a teenager. I gave you an assignment earlier to write a break-out game --- I did this myself on the Commodore Vic-20 when I was 16 or 17 --- but you replied: "fuk u" (you can't even spell your words, attention-deficit dumb-head!).

Just think of a game that would be fun to play. I don't mean a first-person shoot-em-up that requires a team of programmers plus a dozen graphics-artists --- I mean something like Breakout or Hammurabi --- then just write it.

Any fool can be a big expert on the subject of programming, and most are --- actually writing programs that work is quite another matter --- debugging is the difficult part, but with practice it gets easier.

Rickman tells us that he would say "fuk u" to somebody's face, then call the cops on the guy after the guy slugs him. This is grossly dishonorable --- this is punk behavior --- I would never do such a thing.

This is not to say that I'm a coward, afraid of violence. Twice I have caught somebody trying to break into my vehicle in a parking lot, and both times I slugged him.

1.) The first was a squirmy Jew. He blocked my punch so it had no effect, but then he collapsed on the ground in a fetal position covering his face --- I had to hit him multiple times before I got through and connected with his nose --- when I saw that he was bleeding and he began howling: "I'm sorry!," I stopped fighting and left.

2.) The second was a stocky white guy about half my age and twice my strength; he appeared to be the type who is on steroids and works out at the gym every day. When I hit him, I knocked out at least one tooth afaik, but he didn't go down. He staggered a bit, then came at me swinging. We fought hard --- I used to be a kick-boxer, so I know how to fight, but that was 25 years ago and I'm out of shape now --- I slipped his punches and landed a solid one of my own, but he still didn't go down. At this time he grabbed my jacket and pulled it over my head ("hood-winked" me, as they used to say during the Middle Ages), so I was in serious danger of losing the fight. I have a weird gap in my memory as to what happened next. My next conscious memory is that I was on top of him bashing his head into the asphalt. Apparently I hulked out when I realized that I was in trouble, but I really don't remember. Anyway, I left him there bleeding and got in my vehicle and drove away. It is a good thing that my conscious mind regained control, or I might have killed him, but when I realized that he wasn't fighting anymore I stopped fighting and I left --- he was sitting up and looking at me dazed when I left --- he was alive, which is why I'm not in prison today; the police never bothered me at all about it although I'm pretty sure that they know that it was me (one of the several witnesses took a photograph of my license-plate while I was driving away).

Anyway, I never insulted Gavino. It is not my business to pick fights with attention-deficit galoots. All I did was give him the assignment of writing a BreakOut game --- I said that he should write this program, which is pretty easy (I did it on the Commodore Vic-20) --- I said that he should do this rather than continually posting idiotic questions on comp.lang.forth or comp.lang.lisp about writing an OS with 1% of the code and 100 times the features. OMG! This reminds me of when I was 11 years old and dreaming about building a satellite that orbits Earth, using an old tank that I found in my father's scrap-metal pile. This is a waste of time!

This was the thread:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/comp.lang.forth/breakout%7Csort:date/comp.lang.forth/qTDKxhW9758/KrWqJV7MCQAJ

This was what Gavino said (quoted in its entirety):

Gavino --- get over yourself, and your high I.Q.! Write a program such as BreakOut or Hammurabi, or anything that you find interesting and within your reach --- you can cure your attention-deficit problem by just buckling down and carrying a project to completion --- even if it is just a simple game of 1970s quality, you will have something to be proud of, and everybody on comp.lang.forth and comp.lang.lisp will cheer you with vigor and sincerity.

Also, for Elizabeth Rather --- stop posting code snippets copied directly out of the "Starting Forth" book, and braying about how you are the "leading expert" of Forth who learned directly from "Chuck" --- write a program, such as BreakOut or Hammurabi, as your first-ever working program.
