I don't know much about Iceland, but Greenland is very big on kayaking
in spite of the fact that it almost died out in the last century due to
the use of power boats and rifles rather than kayaks and spears for
sealing. Thanks to the Danes it was reinvigorated not long before the
last of the experts would have died off.

Kayaking is an amazing sport arising out of necessity for survival.
They have a rolling competition with some 30 odd different rolls each
named for the nature of the roll or the reason it was used. They also
compete in rope balancing competitions where two ropes are tied between
two trees and the athlete performs the equivalent of rolling moves in
different ways. I once saw a local athlete attempt to perform all the
moves in sequence without mistake, but he made an error at about move
25. :(

It is good to hear that you are nearly physically recovered. The emotional
recovery will be a while yet I fear. May you find the calm resolve to allow
that emotional recovery to continue.

Have a pleasant trip North. Having enjoyed being within the Arctic Circle on
my trip to Norway three years ago, I know you will find it a magical time.

Best wishes my friend.

She is also still in the ASP (I checked, and they haven't kicked her out). Most likely, the deal that she made was that if she did the crime, she would get into the ASP, then her "high-powered attorney" father would see to it that she only gets a couple of years of R&R in a psychiatric facility, and that when she is released she would still be in the ASP. If so, that plan seems to be on track...

> I win.

So, how can you prevent her plan from coming to fruition, so that you do actually win?

Her insanity plea depends entirely upon the attack being without cause, and just a spur-of-the-moment psychotic episode. If it were shown that she had been paid to do the crime however, then her insanity plea would fail --- this would imply rational thinking in the sense of weighing what she was offered (getting accepted into the ASP) against what she had to do (vehicular assault) and deciding to accept the deal. So, if you want to win, show the jury that she was paid to do what she did. But, if you are willing to lose, continue describing the whole thing as being a psychotic episode unrelated to yourself --- don't tell the jury that you make money by selling your customers bug-ridden software and by hitting deep-pocket targets with unjustified lawsuits.

You don't actually live in Hawaii, do you? I'm guessing that you have a time-share condo deal --- one of the plumbers that I work with has one, and was telling me about the point system that they use --- so you are going to finish off your year's points somewhere else.

Does the fact that you are getting out of Dodge imply that you think whoever tried to kill you is an Hawaiian resident? So far, I have been assuming that it was somebody that you hit with an unjustified lawsuit:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.lang.forth/0mEA2lSLiCE
Or that it was a Forth Inc. customer that you refused to give a refund to.

I myself have never said that I wanted Elizabeth Rather killed. I am actually trying to save her life by encouraging her to drop her unjustified lawsuit(s).

I seems obvious that when an attempt is made on one's life, that the person should back off on his or her adventures in cheating and stealing. Remarkably, most people in this situation don't do it. They are in denial about what happened. They refuse to come to grips with the fact that their own wickedness has brought trouble down upon them. They fabricate a story to the effect that it was a purely random attack that has nothing to do with them. Invariably, the person needs two messages before the message sinks in. If the attacks are against property, such as burning the person's car, then the person ends up losing two cars rather than just one, before he or she realizes that the situation is serious and that this is a message that can't be ignored. If the attack has already progressed to the level of putting the person in the hospital, then the second message is very likely going to be fatal --- it is not going to be a bimbo in a Toyota next time. I'm trying to save "Lizzie" from this.

Elizabeth Rather has said that she has left Hawaii. If the attack came from somebody outside of Hawaii however, then this is not going to be good enough! Most likely, the reason why she left Hawaii is because the police there strongly encouraged her to leave, because the whole thing is a huge embarrassment for the Hawaiian tourist industry (murders are not something that the Chamber of Commerce wants to discuss). Elizabeth is not taking the situation seriously though with her arrogant "I win" statement. Also, on the thread regarding Apple, she is continuing to solicit people who will claim that they were confused between Apple's Swift language and Forth Inc.'s SwiftForth language. She is in denial.

I think that Elizabeth Rather lives in a fantasy world; she has spent her whole life telling lies, and she no longer distinguishes between reality and fantasy at all. That whole story about working for NASA was just a big lie. So was the story about hob-nobbing with Barrack Obama. Also, consider this thread:

This is extremely offensive to anybody who has served in the Marine Corp or the Army. This indicates delusions of grandeur on Elizabeth Rather's part --- this goes way beyond typical puffed-up salesperson trumpeting. Elizabeth Rather just doesn't understand that people take pride in their accomplishments --- this is why she casually compares herself to the Marine Corp, and why she casually tells lies about my MFX not working and me getting fired for it, and why she claims to be the "leading expert" on Forth without having ever written a Forth program --- she has really got to stop spouting lies on a daily basis, before she ends up getting killed.

Anyway, both of you are on my twit list forever. Making death threats on the internet is symptomatic of serious mental illness --- get help! Elizabeth Rather herself has never threatened my life. All that she wants from me is that I stop programming in Forth --- that is the whole point of saying that my novice package "sucks." In that thread that I mentioned earlier, I told Stephen Pelc that all he had to do was publicly agree with one of Elizabeth Rather's lies, and I would stop posting on comp.lang.forth forever --- but he refused to do it --- in like a lion, and out like a lamb.

Do you? The way you don't miss a chance to insert your usual insults,
lies and even subliminal threats in what you write looked more like you
just continue your (declared) vendetta.

I don't think you have any clue what happened, but -as usual- try to
bend the facts into your favorite theory. This won't help.

For a start: it seems that JH wouldn't have stopped from alone - bang,
there goes the "first message" theory.

I do apologize for my stupid "Kill.." post, though: I sure don't want
anyone killing someone.

Killing Hugh outside of your newsreader is probably illegal. The death
penalty is normally reserved to the state for crimes of a serious nature,
although legislatures vary as to what they consider a apital crime. In
the US I don't think Hugh could be found guilty of any more than
stupidity, rudeness and paranoia combined with unfettered access to the
internet. First amendment and all that.

I wonder if there are any lawyers present: how much to break his arms so we have at least a holiday of 4 to 6 weeks.

Or less agressive: send the collection of his shit to his wife, his children, his relatives and if he is not a pensioner - what the confused and agressive behaviour implies - inform his employer, this did shut down the last troll I had to deal with.

Uh, don't you guys think this has gone far enough? We know we are
kidding, but it can't be a very nice feeling having people talk about
having you killed or injured. Hugh may be a PITA, but that is only
because we respond to him. I'm very uncomfortable participating in a
group that talks about killing or harming one of its members, even in jest.

For how many years does he p... all over you all, and you feel comfortable with it - sorry but it stinks - sorry for the pun.

There was a similar idiot on Forth-ev, his personality has been deleted.
Where is the link on comp-lang-forth to achieve the same thing? I would not assume that google supports such a behaviour.

If nothing is done, I have to assume people like such a behaviour - accepted.
As said before: For how many years does he p... all over you all, and you feel comfortable with it - sorry but it stinks - sorry for the pun.

The internet allows them to hehave like this - ok. If you sit next to him in a Forth meeting in the real world with a beer in your hand - this might fly in his direction - a standard procedure at the Oktoberfest - except that the glasses migth do him harm - which I would regret as the glass mighr not be reused.

There is a saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can
never hurt me". So nothing Hugh says rises to the level of
contemplating killing him. It is just very poor taste to discuss
killing him or condoning it.

Let's just end this conversation, ok?

Are you his supporter now? Ok if he stops I will, no problem.
I do still have some pride.
It just wastes everybody's time anyway.

Because I don't want to discuss killing anyone I am a supporter??? I
can tell you right now that nothing you say or do will stop anyone from
posting here. So don't expect anyone's behavior to change. I guess I
should take my own advice and stop bother the people who want to bother
him...

> You're all acting like small boys. Cut it out.

My very first programming job was doing C/C++. I soon discovered that the company had some issues (which is likely why they hired me, with no education or experience). The owner of the company would sometimes visit my office and tell me weird stories, like how he had invented the micro-processor, and how he had been in the Special Forces in the Army, and how he had turned down a professional football career to focus on computers, etc. --- I would just grin and nod. There were also "funny" stories told in the break room by the employees. Like about how they had made a video demonstrating their industrial robot, but all of the programmers had stood around the machine outside of the camera's view operating it with fishing line. They sold another machine to several large chip manufacturers (I won't describe what the machine did, as that will give away who I'm describing). The machine (this was what I was brought in to work on) had a lot of bugs...

We were in a big "crunch," meaning that we were working a lot of hours trying to get the machine to work, with the bosses breathing down our necks. The customers were breathing down their necks, demanding a refund. The bosses were known among the employees for doing the "xxx Shuffle" (xxx being our company name). This was a reference to how Mohammed Ali would do the "Ali Shuffle" to dodge punches, but our bosses would dodge questions --- when they were asked a question they would say one thing, then say another, and go on like this for 10 minutes, and afterward it seemed like they had said a lot --- but the questioner would be left baffled as to what the answer was, although it had been a straight-forward question.

Then the owner of the company disappeared for two weeks. When he returned, he was in a wheelchair. His story was that he had gone on a skiing trip and had twisted his knee. His knee had, in fact, been turned around backwards so that his foot was oriented such that he could kick himself in the ass if he felt so inspired. Nobody actually believed that he would go on a skiing trip in the middle of a "crunch." And, the boss had a brand new plan! We weren't in a crunch anymore, as the project had been dropped. He was going to lay-off over half of his employees, and he was going to give the customers a refund.

The boss did eventually recover well enough that he could walk with a cane. For him, only one message was adequate --- he didn't need a second message, which would have been fatal. This was my first programming job, so this is where I learned how the business works.

Anyway, my point is that not everybody in the world acts like little boys --- some people are serious --- and lying to them has consequences. Just a word to the wise!
