Hi Rick,

This sounds really interesting - I thought that HDMI would be a good interface for the GA144 because you don't need to store the whole image, as I understand it.
Could you publish more details, please?

The HDMI Spec is here:-

  <http://www.microprocessor.org/HDMISpecification13a.pdf>

It does look like an interesting interface for High End Video. Not sure
about the >165Mb/s rate but the <165Mb/s rate on Connector A or C would
probably fit the bill. The higher rate wants connector style B which has
additional channels.

Have you any results already? I'm especially interested, how do you plan to implement RGB-to-HDMI encoding by software.

I guess I should have added a huge smiley. I was just poking fun at
gavio. He is always asking for all sorts of things in Forth or on the
GA144. I thought I'd give it to him, but he didn't even bite. Some
others did though.

That's a pity!
I just thought I'll buy a Schmartboard immediately despite having decided not to buy one after my PSC1000 experience.
That would have been a real useful application!
A 20$ CPU for browsing with HDMI !

Uh, bump that up to $25 and you just described the raspberryPi. I'm
using one now to monitor my network status.

I just want frth to replace oracle and microsoft and ibm, and to try and jump in with the fun.

less code, more sppeed, more use of old hardware without huge slowdowns

death of javascript be a bonus

I love dynamic websites!!!

I know deep down that there is more than java and .net

I know :) Why don't you explain the real situation? Gavino shows a very clear misunderstanding, but how can you determine when you need to switch to serious dialog?

I've never seen any indication that being "serious" with Gavino makes
any difference, so why bother?

Yes, I think so. But that about the part of users who really can imagine the complexity of HDMI? USB3? PCI Express? How many peoples can list a peripheral could get benefits from Forth? Or even be compatible with embedded processors? So I'm afraid a big part of this kind of humour simple miss away...

Get yourself a $130 HP Chromebox. You can use it to look up the definitions of "embedded system" and "Forth", which I think would eliminate much of your confusion.
