The more FF the better :-) If you make your own version of FlashForth and distribute it you need to follow the license and modify the name and publish the source on for example github. Mikael I hope you mean ATMEGA328 not 329. BR Mikael

I meant ATMEGA328P, sorry a typo. I'm kind of annoyed with Mouser, I ordered some stuff yesterday and they still have not shipped the items even though they are all in stock, but they took my money yesterday. Have you considered supporting other CPUs such as ARM? You cover a few CPUs so you might be sick of re-writing the software. Thanks -- Cecil - k5nwa

The dsPIC could do it easily with assembler written DSP routines. the ARM is more powerful and could do it all in Forth. Most other projects many which are Ham Radio related could be easily done by the dsPIC, some even with an AVR Arduino. I'm working on getting a PC setup for AVR development today, next a dsPIC development PC, then an ARM Development PC. The first project I want to work on is a Oven Controller for soldering SMT boards, I already have a solution using a PIC but would like to make a fancier version with something more powerful. -- Cecil - k5nwa

I've setup one for AVR, MSP430, PIC/dsPIC, ARM, and Lattice FPGA, the generic software is setup an all virtual machines, and I'm almost finished with the PIC/dsPIC version. When I finish with the PIC/dsPIC, and the AVR versions I will setup some test boards with FF and see how they work out. -- Cecil - k5nwa

I was a contributor in the nineties to some add-ons for HsForth and spoke to Jim but we never met in person. He wrote a very big Forth system single-handedly and it came with comprehensive documentation, something not commonly found. I am sad to hear that he is gone and at such an early age. BF

So my question is is there a free newsgroup server that will allow replies to the list? Google will not limit lines to 72 characters.

Is that a free group? it doesn't list any of the computer or other groups.
