Well GUI takes very little computing power. Like few percents. That is
why I am running WCG 24/7.

Exit the Paris accord, climate change is natural not man made and never a problem.

By "xfe," did you mean XFCE? (Yes ... ?)

If you're not using XFCE but something else, then you might want to
switch to XFCE. XFCE is a very fast desktop GUI.
https://xfce.org/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xfce

Eliminating GDM (Gnu GNOME Display Manager) as my display manager
offered an immense speed up. This also eliminated various desktop
glitches. I switched from GDM to LXDM. LXDM is the display manager
for the LXDE desktop GUI. FYI, it wasn't designed to be paired with
XFCE, but works well with it. So, you might consider using LXDE with
LXDM since they're designed to go together.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxdm/
http://lxde.org/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LXDE

Switching from Chrome to Mozilla Firefox improved my Internet browsing
speed substantially.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Switching from VLC to SMPlayer improved video playback speed. They
have Linux versions on the download page. You need to have MPlayer
installed, but most Linux versions come with it pre-loaded.
http://www.smplayer.info/
http://www.smplayer.info/en/downloads
http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/info.html

Linux usually comes with many services/daemons enabled. This slows it
down. Try turning off unneeded services, especially those which are a
security risk since they open ports.

You amateur. I use IceWM window manager, xfe is a gui file browser.
I thought you were technical.
Cool people stopped using xfce like a decade ago.
:)
I do welcome something that looks like win98 with taskbar, min all button, launch xterm button, and resizeable by mouse windows with min max drag to rezie,
but done in forth in 1% the code of iceWM.
I would download it TOday!
When iceWM installs all kinds of extra libs come down seems bloated but its easiest to use lightweight gui by far. Jwm is not quite a compeitor.

Because you never do any computing. How old are you?
You give the impression that you are about 10 years
old. Does your mother know that you're posting on
the internet?

Transcoding a video on both machines would reveal
an enormouse difference in speed.

Your impressions are of a dumb 5 year old.
I'm talking about surfing the web.
