This is a nice story, but you present it as a rebuttal. Does Forth's growth depend on your reuse of some code from JForth?

History informs growth (or should).

I heard a lot of good things about Jforth. The author of Jforth won a contest for fastest programmer. Everybody was given a task that they were unprepared for (in this case, printing a message on an LED display panel that they had not worked with before), then timed on how fast they could do it. Forth's interactive debugging helps a lot in programming quickly. He also presumably had a library of code already available for accessing I/O on the Amiga, so he didn't have to do cut-and-paste-and-tweak of old programs, as Elizabeth Rather's followers are required to do. There was a lot of good Forth work being done prior to ANS-Forth --- all of that got killed by ANS-Forth --- from 1994 on, ANS-Forth has been totally focused on preventing Forth programming by declaring it to be non-standard and hence worthless.
