For example, the Enfield rifle has the rifling in the opposite direction of everybody else in the world. When you stick a cleaning rod in, the attachment on the end unscrews and can get stuck in the barrel, which is extremely dangerous if you don't notice and then fire the rifle (hopefully your left eye was your good eye, because that is the only one you will have still functioning; and, if you weren't handsome to start with, you won't be too disappointed in your face afterward). But why do the English do it differently? What difference does it make whether the bullet spins counter-clockwise or clockwise in the air? The purpose of spinning is stabilization, but this works the same with either spin. So why not just do it the same way as everybody else? The English are just being arrogant and obstinate --- they did it backwards because they weren't thinking, way back in the late 19th century --- now they are married to the mistake and refuse to change.

I'm aware of your point, just showing interesting facts about the Lee
Enfield rifle, all about it was not due to stubbornness, actually I
believe that the Enfield was the first repeating (not 100% sure) bolt
action rifle so it was the rest of the world that went it's own way.
