In my view, it is more important (than same spelling) for special 
symbols in names to convey a specific meaning.

However, the names of other words that take an xt from the stack do not 
begin with "<".

Yes, this is an inconsistency in naming.

I see.  In that case, since Gforth already has `DODOES` (rather than 
`DODOES>`), the name `SET-DOES` seems more appropriate.
