What do the references in the FAQ mean? I didn't see anything about it in the introduction. E.g. at http://c-faq.com/aryptr/aryptr1.html it says "References: ISO Sec. 6.5.4.2" One might guess that this refers to some ISO standard, but neither ISO C99 nor ISO C11 has a section 6.5.4.2. Or it might refer to the second senetnce in 6.5.4, which for both C99 and C11 is "Unless the type name specifies a void type, the type name shall specify qualified or unqualified scalar type and the operand shall have scalar type." which doesn't make sense as a reference here. They refer to ISO C from 1990 (I had to read the "references" section to find out). > E.g. at > http://c-faq.com/aryptr/aryptr1.html > it says "References: ISO Sec. 6.5.4.2" Pretty much the only difference between what is colloquially called "ANSI C" and ISO C was the section numbering that went up by 3 in most places to account for ISO boiler plate when ISO ratified the ANSI standard. The reference is to what is numbered 3.5.4.2 in ANSI C. The text can be found here: http://www.bsb.me.uk/ansi-c/ansi-c-one-file.html#sec_3_5_4_2 <snip> -- Ben.
