No, it really isn't.
If you find it interesting, that's fine (but bewildering). But if you
want to speculate about why fir behaves the way he does, please do it
elsewhere. Please stop feeding the troll.

One of this observations is right above, he wants to decide for the others what they should do (and there is not any deeper thought behind that only really mindless simpletonic pose which you can observe as usual in such cases).. Also ofc this cowardly insult is another proof.. (I said that troll naming is cowardly as this is used by primitives whou could not defend their deeper view only cowardly insult others then go hide.. More can be said on this but i think its mostly clear, (must go to work )

Probably not. I sometimes use the word "troll" as a verbal shorthand
for posters who behave like trolls, whatever their motivation.
Apparently I can't get away with that.

But all anary trees can be trivially recast as binary trees, and in fact are so recast when you recurse over them. And recursion has a genuine advantage over loops in that you can't have cycles. So I don't see how I can fail to be correct. Recursion must be over a data set that is a tree (or a graph that is interpreted as a tree, with one node being designated the root node and others being designated as tips, that's still recursion over a tree, you're ignoring the non-tree links).

What's wrong is the idea that recursion necessarily operates over some sort of tree, or graph, or a single data structure, or any kind of data structure at all.

Back at the very beginning a person called an analyst wrote a flow chart of the program and threw it over the door to a person called a coder who wrote the actual program acording to the flow chart. I admit I never saw this done - but that was the way they (IBM?) said it was done. This system did not work very well. A programmer is both an analyst and a coder. And right from the start the best approach was first make the program work - then add speed.

It is certainly true that you make the program work before you make it fast, but my point has always been that, in addition, you make the program readable before you make it work. -- Richard Heathfield Email: rjh at cpax dot org dot uk "Usenet is a strange place" - dmr 29 July 1999 Sig line 4 vacant - apply within
