I believe this very strongly... so I write you to because I care about
your eternal souls, and about teaching you the truth about the upcoming
deception that the enemy of God will cast over the entire world.

In the very near future, and it's already showing signs that it has begun,
you're going to start seeing a bunch of interesting and amazing news items
appear on mainstream media. It will appear that people from all over the
world are recording something that is happening in their area, something
that is stunning. Breathtaking. Beautiful beyond words. Things people
haven't seen before. Things that will awe and inspire. These will be
accompanied by scientific and philosophical experts, and popular and
well-trusted personalities, who come forward to teach and explain about
what is happening. And to the carnal mind, to man's reasoning and
thinking, it will be amazing. It will have such an appeal that it will
seem to easy to believe, so natural, and so desirable.
What is coming is the great deception. It will be demons, lying former
angelic spirits with real power doing false things under false pretenses
to trick and deceive men into believing falsely. It is part of God's
final wrath upon mankind before He returns to establish His 1,000 year
Kingdom on Earth, and many will be deceived by those demons.

I want you all to know that these happenings were foretold in the Bible
many hundreds of years ago. God told people these things would occur
in the end-times because He wanted to save people from the coming great
deception, leading them out of that falseness, and into truth, to lead
them so that they would seek the truth, and come to His Son, repent of
their sin, ask forgiveness, and be saved, given eternal life, and no
punishment for sin, no Judgement.
It is very likely something unprecedented will happen in the coming days,
something that will be described afterward as something other than what
it actually was. Now, I don't have a portal to see details of the future.
I don't know events or dates or what will be described as what has just
happened. But the Bible does warn us about the deception that will come
beginning at this time, and God has given hints and signs about the times
so that those who are His watchers will see them in advance, and warn
others so that when the time comes, they too will have a witness.
I believe the rapture will occur sometime very soon. And those who are
believers in Jesus Christ, those who are born again and are doing His will
upon this Earth, they will be caught up into the air, whisked away in a
moment of time. This will be a world-wide event, and it will be by the
power of God, of Jesus Christ, who has by His authority and power, summoned
His faithful saints to come up to Heaven where we will be with Him for a
little over a year while devastation occurs here upon the Earth, and before
He returns to the Earth near the end of 2016 to setup His 1,000 year
Kingdom.
You can research all of this yourself in this video (3h 49m long). It
is very in-depth. I've watched it several times, and I have studied the
Bible since 2004, and it is a truly amazing assemblage of information.
But, even the author states that she is not certain because the story she
conveys in the video has been revealed to her over two decades as pieces
of a puzzle. And at each point she thought she had everything together,
the date would come and go and she would later learn through revelation
that there was more to the puzzle, which was a message God created before
the foundation of the world so that those who would not seek the truth
would never find it, and all those who believers who would seek the truth
would find it. And, as in the past, as the day approaches, He has given
His people revelation as to the true meaning of the many prophesies in
scripture that foretold of the events of the end-times:

Just know this: when the church is raptured, and the people of God
are no longer here on the Earth, it will be so very easy to believe the
lie. Everyone will believe it because they aren't in pursuit of truth.
I advise you now: don't. Don't believe the lie. That lie will damn
your eternal soul. Instead, turn your faith and trust to God, and to
His Son. Believe in the teachings of Bible, for God is truth, and He
will NEVER lead you astray, and He has given us His written word so
that through the ages we would never walk in darkness, and so that His
people would never be without confirmation.
It will still be possible to be saved during this time, but you must be
sold out to Jesus Christ, willing to die even for your faith. And many
will be called upon to die for their faith as a witness during this great
shaking (where the times at hand will be worse than anything in mankind's
history, and are never to be equaled again, as per God's foretelling in
scripture -- Matthew 24:21).

I have told you all many times to trust in God, and to believe in His Son,
Jesus Christ, to come to Him repenting, asking forgiveness, for when you
do this truly you are eternally saved. And for those who have heard and
repented, you too will be raptured even if your belief is only hours old.
But for those who have not believed, you will go through the tribulation.
Most of mankind will /not/ survive the events of this time, but some will,
and you must understand that even if you die during this time, you still
have /ONE/ chance to escape death, /ONE/ chance to save your eternal soul:
and that's to ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins, and to do this
the instant you feel convicted over your sins. The moment you do, He will
forgive you, and you will be saved. He will save you from death so that
even if you die here in this world in your body, yet will you live on in
eternity (your soul and spirit go on, and you are given a new body like
that of the angels, one which will never get sick, never get old, never
suffer pain, never hunger, never thirst, and it will be beautiful like
the angels:

When your hear His call ... answer Him. Do not delay. Answer Him in
the very moment.

Advice for going through the tribulation:
Pray. Always. Ask God to save you from His coming wrath, and to protect
you. During this time some really amazing supernatural (spiritual) gifts
will be given to the new believers. They will perform mighty works for
the Lord. You will know who is performing works of the Lord, and who is
performing works of darkness if you seek God in truth, and ask Him to
reveal the truth to you. He is faithful to do this for all people who
seek Him and ask Him sincerely. And all who profess the name of Jesus
Christ, and the power of His Holy Spirit, are of God. The rest are
demons working miracles to deceive.
Trust in God. Speak to people. Teach them about the truth (teach, and
don't lecture. Use words to describe and teach and meet people where
they, in their language, so they too can understand the things the enemy
has never taught them in this world). Ask God for help in this, and He
will give it to you. He will sometimes make your mouth speak. Or place
sentences in your mind to speak to someone because they will hear not
only through their ears, but also through His Holy Spirit on their inmost
man.
Very few people during this time will believe you when you tell them the
truth. Their destruction was long foretold in scripture. But for those
who will believe, I move for you in /this/ time, and you must move for
them in /that/ time, remembering always that your service is to the Lord,
and to His people, and you are not doing it for other reasons -- you are
doing it for Him, because of who He is.
Time is short. On the order of days. I write this to prepare you for
what's coming so that after it happens you may come back, reflect upon
this teaching, and my other writings, and come to believe in Jesus Christ
and be set free from the enemy's lies and deception, that you may trust
in God and come to His Son and be saved.

on this side of our temporal life. But I take great comfort in knowing
that for each of you who overcome in Jesus Christ, that we will have all
eternity to work together. I look forward to seeing you all in Heaven.

May God the Father draw each of you to His Son. May this happen quickly,
and truly, so that you will be completely saved, sealed by His Holy Spirit
until the day of your death, or His return, whichever comes first. I ask
for His Love to overshadow your fear. I ask for His Grace to fill you
with peace no matter the trial. I ask for His Mercy to be poured out on
you, and the many people you will speak to during this time. I ask for
this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Well Rick, I agree with you, aliens are coming. See: http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/jpeg/PIA19889.jpg Yes, that is a look at the Occator crater in Ceres. A NASA machine has just arrived there, and discovered that there is... well THAT! The lights are so strong that actually they took two photos: one for the "lights", and another for the crater. The difference in intensity is SO GREAT that you can't take only one photo, it would be overexposed at the bright spots. They look like beacons to me, but beware, I have a deranged mind and my phantasy is not tightly controlled.

There are no aliens. ----- All a believer can do is point someone to the truth. We can't make them believe it, and that's actually not our job. Our job is to speak the truth, live the truth, and point people to the truth (to Jesus Christ, who is truth -- John 14:6). It is the Holy Spirit's Job to convict people on the inside, and confirm within them the truth that we spoke, that is Him, so that they will believe (1 Corinthians 3:7). Best regards, Rick C. Hodgin

The universe is full of life. God is Sovereign and in full Authority.
Everything everywhere obeys His Laws because they are not burdensome,
are beneficial to all, and maintain order in paradise. It is only
here upon this Earth where we find the ability to lie desirable, the
desire to do harm being held as anything other than something to be
immediately dismissed as evil and rebellious, so that men and women
actually carry out those thoughts through action. It is only here
where the concept of greed enters in and people will make choices
toward self which diminish others as to pursue personal gain.
The way of the universe is not like that. And where God commands
His creation, in all places except here upon this Earth which is
fallen in sin because of man, everything obeys Him.
This world is not the way God has established His created universe.
It operates the way it does here because of sin, and because of the
presence of the enemy of God, Satan, who is spreading evil to all
points, deceiving men, leading them to their destruction.
God is life. And the universe He created is full of His presence,
full of His plans, His creations. But for us here upon this Earth
at this time, it is not for us to know these things beyond what He
has given us, for all the rest is speculation, and something that
Jesus has promised us He will teach us personally on the other side
of this temporal existence, after we leave this world.

My comment about there not being aliens is this: There are no aliens
in this universe. All life from someplace else will be known to God,
and known by God, and all of that life will be brothers and sisters
as part of God's family, without division or separation, except as in
purpose of creation (angels are not man, for example, nor is man an
angel, and this is true for all of God's creation, for each was made
after its own kind).
God really is in control. The universe really is His. And it is
because of sin that so many on this world cannot see it. Soon the
Lord is returning. And soon all things will be settled. Those who
have come to know Him as Lord and Savior will be saved, and will
enter into eternity alive with Him in the paradise of God. Those
who never came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior will be
judged, and damned, and tossed alive into the burning lake of fire
never to return.
It is the way of things. Jesus does not want this to happen to
anybody, which is why He told us ALL ABOUT IT in advance, so that
we would have time to repent, and ask forgiveness, and be saved.

All who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ will live eternally in the paradise of God, the bride to God Himself. Everyone who does not put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ will is condemned already, and will be cast in to eternal Hellfire. Jesus has warned everybody. This is why I don't see any problem with a few off-topic threads - it is very different from off-topic content in technical threads (though Thunderbird at least can kill sub-threads too). As long as this stuff is in its own thread here, I can't see any reason to complain about what is basically light entertainment amongst a group of friends - or work colleagues chatting around the coffee machine. If your newsreader does not have the ability to conveniently mark a thread as ignored, hidden or killed, then I can understand your frustration and irritation much better.

I understand that off-topic posts annoy him (and several others) - he has a right to express that annoyance. To what extent others in the group should base their posting practices on the advice or opinion of Keith, or any other individuals, is another matter. However, the group would be significantly poorer without Keith's input - and I know I have benefited from his knowledge enough to want to avoid his killfile. So I am trying to help find a balance.
