Most Christians don't interpret the bible literally (most Christians worldwide are Catholics who have really really gotten past that inquistion crap). They don't have a problem letting their god create other intelligent life and treating them however their god pleases. Also most Christians don't have a problem with the Big Bang, an old Earth, and the evolution of life, while they might argue with atheists over details. After it was a Catholic that invented the Big Bang. Also a number of coincidences occurred before intelligent life arose on Earth. If those coincidences are signficant, intelligent life in the universe is rare or even unique. If those coincidences are insignficant, intelligence is abundant. And contrary to Fermi, abundant intelligent life could still mean humans just happen to be the first to look beyond their own planet. Something else just occurred to me. I remember listening to a Leonard
Ravenhill Study a few years ago, and he talked about there being a song
that people in Hell sang:

sin away, and restores us to the Kingdom God had originally created
for man, the one Adam and Eve lived in before they sinned, before
death, before Satan entered in as the "god of this world":

In one of my favorite all-time Star Trek episodes, "Mirror, Mirror,"
there's a scene at the end where prime Kirk is talking with alternate
Spock about the events in the alternate timeline. You can see the
sequence re-created here at the start of this Star Trek fan episode
entitled "E03 Fairest of Them All":

The exchange goes like this:
SPOCK: "You must return to your universe, I must have my captain
back. I shall operate the transporter. You have two
minutes and ten seconds."
KIRK: "For that time I have something to say. How long until the
Halken prediction of galactic revolt is realized?"
SPOCK: "Approximately 240 years."
KIRK: "The inevitable outcome?"
SPOCK: "The empire will be overthrown, of course."

.
KIRK: "In my cabin is a device that will make you invincible..."
And it goes on from there...
It's interesting to note that if you take July 4, 1776 and add
"approximately 240 years," you arrive at a time point targeting exactly
July 4, 2016, then ranging forward and backward from January 3, 2016
to January 2, 2017, which is the timeframe given for the end of this
age, and the evil "empire" being overthrown. And I have wondered about
the device in Kirk's cabin, if it's not a reference to faith in God,
Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit ... after all, he is
"good" Kirk talking to "evil" Spock, asking "evil" Spock to change his
ways, to switch sides, and arguing about the illogic of continuing to
support an empire which, by his own admission, is doomed.
I have also observed that if you watch the first season of Star
Trek The Next Generation from the perspective of some fallen angels
(demons) desiring to get back to where they came from, being forced
to toil here upon the Earth, then the episode "Encounter At Farpoint"
makes a lot more sense where the "space beings" reunite in orbit,
happy again, in love again. And so do several more episodes from that
season including "Justice," where violation of any law results in a
death penalty, and "Skin of Evil," about the hideous ugly creature that
was shunned from the race that now appears so beautiful they would be
striking, the episode with Picard beaming out as energy only, but the
union wasn't compatible and he's forced to beam back, and several others.
It's as if Star Trek (at least early on under Gene Roddenberry) was
guided by demons who were desiring to go back to that from which they
fell. They kept giving hint after hint, clue after clue, story after
story, which pointed out the injustice of a decision made by a Holy
God, so as to plea their case before Him in a way that He would see,
and know.
I could be completely wrong about all of that, but it is a pattern
I have noticed.
And in all honesty, there are a dozen more which fall into that obvious
category of an alternate story being told if you look at it from that
point of view.
If you're a Star Trek fan you ought to go look at the episode synopses
from that first season, and see if you can't see the alternate story
lines given from the point of view of some demon spirits wanting to go
back to that from which they fell, but being unable to for some reason.
Or of pleading their case as by the story line in the episode, to make
a point as with the end of the episode, "Justice," where Picard gives
the speech while all-but-yelling:
"I would say now to any intelligent creature which may be
listening... there can be NO JUSTICE so long as laws are
absolute!"
Fits the bill perfectly. A demon argument against a Holy God over the
cost of their rebellion, of their sin.
