No, no, no! A thousand times, no!

By all means continue this sociopathic nonsense. It makes this newsgroup
interesting.

Be honest, Ian. Clearly, the best recent threads have been:
    a) The "vacation" thread. I really liked that one, because it shows
that Kuyper isn't the same soulless automaton that certain other regs are.
and
    b) Anything started or contributed to by Ricky.

Ian, let me present you with a hypothetical scenario:

What if the Biblical account is real?
What if there was a perfect world created by God?
What if God truly gave man a choice, and one rule to follow?
What if man broke that rule?
    What if sin is real?
What if the punishment for sin really is Hell?
What if God refused to let all men die because of sin?
What if He made a way out by sending His Son to die in our place?
What if He really did make a way back to the perfect world He created?
What if He asked those who have come to Him to teach others?
What if the things Christians teach are real?
What if their goal is to save your eternal soul from Hell?
What if the thing they do with their lives toward you really is done
    in love?

Have you ever considered this possibility, Ian? That the Christian who reaches
out to you about knowledge of Jesus Christ, and specifically about saving
knowledge of Jesus Christ, is really doing this because he/she cares about
your eternal soul, and does not want you to be bound up by sin, but rather to
be set free from it, so that you too can enter into eternal life, knowing also
the born again nature here upon this world, to see with new eyes (eyes of the
spirit), to know more in this world than you did previously (with flesh only).

What if that really is our goal, and we're not trying to get you to join our
church and give us money, but instead are pointing you to that personal
relationship with Jesus Christ we already share, knowing then who He is, who
we are, who you are, and what we need to be saved?

That really is the goal of many Christian, Ian. But the enemy is also here,
and that enemy tries very hard to make Christians be harmful toward others in
non-saving ways. It paints enough negativity on the outside to keep those
who will only look at something at a glance away, but for those who will dig
a little deeper ... the truth will be known to them because God is not hidden,
but rather He stands at the door of your soul/mind, and He knocks, desiring
to come in and sup with you, and you with Him.

-----
The hypothetical scenario explained above ... it really does exist. And it
really is why I reach out to people. I want everyone to be saved. I want
everyone to enter in to eternal life alive, and prospering in Heaven with
God.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

Things related to the Bible and Jesus Christ (and their related teachings)
will all seem like hogwash when you do not seek them. That is because
there is an active enemy of God at work in your life, one to which you are
unaware, who is guiding you away from God in everything.

That's why the things I teach you seem to be so crazy.

If you will pursue the things I teach you about for yourself, then you will
discover that what I am talking about and teaching really is real, and that
there really is this mass deception taking place world-wide, the result of
original sin, and the spiritual death that came from that sin.

Sin is the disease. Jesus is the cure (because at the cross He takes our
sin away from us, and deposits it onto Himself so that He can pay the price
of our disobedience, rather than us having to pay it). That's love.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

As in so many other ways, BartC, you are mistaken. That isn't what he
meant. He meant double, not _Bool. _Bool is what /you/ meant, and you
meant it because you wanted to make an observation about religion in a
technical group. Please don't do that. Keep religious observations for
religious groups, and technical observations for technical groups.

It's nether wholly real not wholly imaginary.
So there can be but one identifier

BartC is certainly wrong about what Siri meant, but BartC's choice
of_Bool would technically fit the pun too. _Bool is a "standard unsigned
integer type" (6.2.5p6), an "unsigned integer type" (p6, again), an
"integer type" (p17), and a "real type" (p17, again), each of those
categories being defined as including every type in the previous
category. So _Bool actually works, though it's far from being the best
possible choice for this pun from among C's many "real types".

Also in assembly:

    BiblicalAccount REAL8 777

Easy to fixup:

    typedef double real;

    real BiblicalAccount;

Even C programmers can easily come to the REALization.

Have you ever studied Jesus Christ? Have you ever learned why He is
different than other men (because He is God in the flesh)?

> > Ian, let me present you with a hypothetical scenario:
> snip deeply-held beliefs, delusions and absurdities

The video I posted cites why it is so easy in modern society to summarily
dismiss Christianity, sin, and our need of Jesus Christ.

There is an anti-Christ spirit at work in this world teaching things which
go against Jesus Christ, and His teachings. Because that enemy moves via
sinful men, it moves significantly. People are always willing to sacrifice
something Jesus Christ would desire they not sacrifice (truth, morals,
ethics, etc.) for something like monetary gain or a prosperous position of
some kind of power in their field of interest.

But the truth has a different voice. It's not subject to such draws and
pulls, and actually stands up and speaks with a loud voice against them.

If you examine the truth, seeking it rightly, purposefully, diligently,
then you will know the difference between the falseness and the truth,
because God Himself will give you the discernment to know.

It's why I spend this time. I have been saved by Jesus Christ. I have
known the Rick before He saved me, before the born again nature, and the
Rick now after the born again nature. He teaches me from within, and I
am able to know the truth because of Him. Because of that change within
me, I now speak of Him because the change I've had is available to everyone
world-wide, all who will come to Him, no matter their position, status,
former sin, or anything. There are no barriers in Jesus Christ, except
for those people erect around themselves.

Learn of Jesus Christ, DFS. You'll be forever glad you did. You have
great value and worth. You are deeply loved. And I would like to see
you in Heaven.

Best regards,
Rick C. Hodgin

There is no Heaven, or Hell, or God in whose image man was made.

Best regards... unless I refuse to "accept" JC as my savior. Then I'm
doomed, as noted in your nasty tweet about Prince:

#Prince is gone. He never accepted #JesusChrist as savior. He'll be
judged and enter into Hell forever. #GodIsReal #HellIsReal #RepentToday

And let's hear it for proper capitalization, lest we think you were plonking
an entire country. :-)

According to <http://www.raceandhistory.com/worldhotspots/Israel.htm>, 1948.
According to
<http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/isreal.html?requestedDomain=www.mathworks.com>,
some time before 2006.
<http://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy/reference/generated/numpy.isreal.html>
and <http://octave.sourceforge.net/octave/function/isreal.html> aren't
clear on the founding date.
It was first mentioned by the US National Counterterrorism Center in
January 2014.
<https://www.rt.com/usa/isreal-counterterrorism-calendar-jokes-669/>

That was just from the first two pages out of 662,000 hits for "Isreal"
on Google.

A2: I don't know. I don't use MatLab. :-)

How were Adam and Eve supposed to know "right" from "wrong" prior to eating
from the tree of knowledge?

Is there such a thing as "free will" if making the "wrong" choice is
punished with eternal torture?

What if Christianity got it wrong, so G-d sent Muhammad to correct it?

Adam and Eve were different than other people. They were created in
adult form. They were given the full knowledge God had for man. They
knew from God's prior warning to not eat from the tree which was in the
midst of the garden, lest they die. They repeated this knowledge before
they did eat:

    http://biblehub.com/kjv/genesis/3-3.htm
"But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it,
     lest ye die."

Free will is given in all areas of life. The places you cannot go are
those laid out by God. But if you don't go to those places, you can
do all other things. You can become a carpenter, or write music, or
do some other things. You can decide on Tuesday to go to the market
place and have brunch with your daughter, or go for a drive out in the
country, or to work through lunch and order in pizza.

God sent us His Holy word (the Bible), and His Son, and His Holy Spirit
to demonstrate and prove Himself. It is complete, and sufficient.

Best regards,
