The original test was:

    if( ((temp >= 'A') && (temp <= 'Z')) )

If I change it to:

    if (temp >= 'A' && temp <= 'Z') return 1;

I don't get any warnings with "gcc -Wall -Wextra" (and I find it
easier to read).
