Unless perhaps there's some very good reason in the problem domain
whereby calculating the geometric mean for some inputs and something
else for other inputs actually makes sense.
It would probably still be better to have a straightforward geomean()
function that's called by your maybe_geomean_maybe_something_else()
function, though geometric mean is simple enough that a well-delimited
block within a single function *might* be defensible.
But I still have no idea why you'd want to do what Alla's geomean()
function does.
