[I corrected a typo in the quoted text.]
Don't assume that an uninitialized float object is *probably*
equal to 0.0. The value is completely arbitrary, and might not
even be a valid number.
(If an object is defined outside any function, or with the "static"
keyword", then it's implicitly initialized to zero.)
