If you want to ask us about HAVE_LIBNOTIFY7, you'll have to tell us
what it is. Is it a C preprocessor macro? A symbol in a Makefile?
An environment variable? A symbol defined in a shell script?
Something else?
It seems to be close to the core of what you're trying to figure
out, but you're not giving us enough information to help you.
And it's likely to be off-topic here, but with more information we
might be able to help you find a better place to ask your questions.
Perhaps comp.unix.programmer would be better?
And I suspect that what you're looking for is not a system call, but a
call to a library function (those are two different things). But you
haven't said what system call or function you're looking for.
